Last week in L.A., Cults, kicked off this year’s KCRW Twilight Concerts series at the Santa Monica Pier, which Cults keyboardist and founding member Brian Oblivion said was the band’s largest show ever as they played to a dock, beach and amusement park full of concert goers. While co-founder Madeline Follin stayed aloof and angelic throughout the evening, Oblivion commented on how the band formed and now currently resides in Brooklyn, but all of its members are from California and that the west coast would always be their home. This seemed appropriately fitting since the stage backdrop exclaimed, “This is why we live here.”
